v3 tokens
Tokens paired with a real-world asset instead of USDC. Trade them in USDC, get paid in the asset.
v3 is the third generation of ubi.fun tokens. A v3 token trades against a real-world asset instead of USDC: its market is the token against that asset, every fee is taken in that asset, and the token’s holders and its creator are paid in it. You still trade in USDC on ubi.fun. One transaction takes your USDC through the asset’s own Uniswap market and into the token, and back again when you sell.
v3 launches next to the existing generations. Nothing about tokens launched before it changes, and USDC stays the default pair on the launch form.
Pairs
The asset a v3 token trades against is its pair. The pair is chosen at launch and never changes.
- Gold: XAUm, Matrixdock’s tokenized gold. Live.
- Tokenized stocks: the next pairs, from xStocks once its stocks arrive on Arc.
v3 next to v2
| v2 tokens | v3 tokens | |
|---|---|---|
| Market | Token against USDC | Token against its pair asset |
| Supply | 100 billion, fixed | 1 billion, fixed |
| You trade in | USDC | USDC (routed through the pair in one transaction) |
| Fees | One trading fee, 1.5% to 5% | A buy fee and a sell fee, 1.5% to 5% each |
| Launch protection | Anti-sniper window: 60% of supply at a fixed price | Anti-snipe fee: buys pay more at first, falling to the buy fee within at most 10 minutes |
| Auto buyback | 0% to 10% | 0% to 83% |
| Holder dividends | At least a sixth of the creator’s earnings, in USDC | At least a sixth of the creator stream, in the pair asset |
| Fee split | 77% creator side, 13% UBI holders, 10% protocol, settled by the daily payout | The same 77 / 13 / 10, split by the contracts on every trade |
| Split recipients | Up to 4 wallets or X handles | Up to 4 wallets |
What the creator chooses at launch
All of these are permanent.
- Buy fee and sell fee: 1.5% to 5% each. The launch form offers 1.5%, 2%, 3% and 5%, default 1.5% for both. A higher fee pays everyone more, but makes each trade more expensive.
- Anti-snipe fee: optional, on by default. Buys right after trading opens pay a higher fee, 10%, 25%, 40% or 60%, that falls in a straight line to the buy fee over 1, 5 or 10 minutes. The default is 10% falling over 5 minutes. Sells never pay it. See Anti-snipe fee.
- Auto buyback: 0% to 83% of the creator stream, default 10%. It buys your token back with the pair asset and burns everything it buys. See Auto buyback and the floor.
- Holder dividends: at least a sixth of the creator stream, up to all of it. The form shows the least you can pick for your buyback setting: at the default 10% buyback it is 18.53% of your earnings, which is a sixth of the creator stream.
- Optional recipients: up to 4 wallet addresses that share what you keep after holder dividends. You keep the rest.
- Optional pre-buy: 1%, 2% or 5% of the supply, bought in the launch transaction. See Pre-buy at launch.
- Optional large-trade fee: an extra fee on big single trades. See Large-trade fee.
- Optional Underwater pot: a share of the vault’s earnings for buyers holding at a loss. See Underwater pot.
Where the fee goes
Every fee splits the same way, whatever rate the creator picked. Per $100 of fees on a trade with no referrer:
- $13 to eligible UBI holders, in the pair asset.
- $10 to the protocol.
- $77 to the creator stream, which the token’s own settings divide between the auto buyback, the token’s holders and the creator.
The contracts make this split on every trade; there is no daily settlement. Per $10M traded, with the default 10% buyback and no referrer:
| Default | Balanced | Holders first | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buy and sell fee | 1.5% | 3% | 5% |
| Holder dividends | the least (18.53%) | 25% | 50% |
| Creator | $84,690 | $155,930 | $173,250 |
| This token’s holders | $19,260 | $51,980 | $173,250 |
| Buyback and burn | $11,550 | $23,100 | $38,500 |
| Eligible UBI holders | $19,500 | $39,000 | $65,000 |
| Protocol | $15,000 | $30,000 | $50,000 |
Figures are dollar values of the pair asset at the time of each trade, rounded to $10. They leave out the anti-snipe window, when buys pay more and every row grows with them.
With a referrer: when a trade names a referrer, it takes 5% of the fee first and every row above is 5% smaller.
What can change, and what can’t. The protocol owner can adjust the protocol’s cut without a redeploy, but only within limits written into the contracts: the cut taken for UBI holders and the protocol together stays between 23% and 30%, so the creator stream never falls below 70% of a fee, and UBI holders always get at least 13%. A creator’s own settings never change.
Anti-snipe fee
Sniper bots profit by buying the first blocks of a launch and selling to everyone after them. On a v3 token, the creator can make those first buys expensive instead: a buy right after trading opens pays the anti-snipe fee, which falls every second, in a straight line, until it reaches the normal buy fee.
- Example: at 10% over 5 minutes with a 1.5% buy fee, a buy in the first second pays about 10%, a buy halfway through about 5.75%, and from minute 5 on, 1.5%.
- Sells never pay it, and the fee is split like every other fee, so a sniper’s extra fee goes to the token’s creator stream, UBI holders and the protocol.
- Buys must name the amount they pay while the window runs (the usual way to buy). Buys that ask for an exact number of tokens are refused until it ends.
- The token page shows the live rate and a countdown while the window runs, and every quote uses the rate of that moment.
Unlike the anti-sniper window of v2 tokens, the price moves freely from the first block.
How holders get paid
-
Fees build up. Every trade’s fee accrues inside the protocol, in the pair asset. A token’s fees move on in batches once they pass about $1.
-
Harvest. A harvest moves the waiting fees into the token’s vault and splits them. ubi.fun’s harvester does it automatically, and anyone can harvest from the token page.
-
24-hour drip. The holders’ share is released gradually to everyone holding the token, by balance and time held, over the 24 hours after each harvest. Buying just before a harvest and selling right after earns almost nothing.
-
Withdraw. Your dividends show on the token page under Yours to withdraw. Withdraw whenever you like, in the pair asset. They never expire.
Every wallet holding the token earns, including smart-contract wallets. Pools, the protocol’s own contracts, the burn address and the token’s treasury do not.
Creator earnings
The creator’s revenue NFT goes into the token’s vault at launch and stays there for good. The creator side of each harvest is credited to the recipients fixed at launch, and each recipient claims it on the token page with Claim, in the pair asset.
Renounce. The vault’s owner can renounce: from then on the creator’s part of every harvest goes to the token’s holders, forever. Earnings already credited stay claimable.
Community takeover
If a creator walks away, a v3 token’s community can take over the creator’s earnings. After reviewing a request from the community, the protocol owner can replace the token’s recipients and vault owner, under rules the contract enforces:
- Only after 30 days without a claim by any current recipient, never in a token’s first 30 days, and at least 30 days after any earlier takeover. A creator who keeps claiming can’t be taken over.
- Never on a renounced token.
- Earnings already credited stay with the old recipients, to claim whenever they like. Only future earnings follow the new recipients.
- Holder dividends, the buyback, the fees and every other setting stay exactly as launched.
Pre-buy at launch
The creator can buy part of the supply in the launch transaction itself, from the new market before anyone else can trade. It starts at the launch price, and like any buy it moves the price as it fills. The launch form offers 1%, 2% or 5% of the supply.
- Paid in USDC: the site first swaps it to the pair asset, then launches. The form shows the most the pre-buy can cost before you confirm, and the launch reverts rather than spend more.
- No trading fee and no anti-snipe fee: the pre-buy fills before public trading opens.
- The tokens are the creator’s, like any other holding, and visible on chain.
Large-trade fee
Optional, set at launch and fixed. Trades at or above a size the creator picks pay an extra fee on top of the buy or sell fee, with the total capped at 5%.
- The launch form offers an extra 0.5%, 1% or 2% (the contracts allow up to 3.5%) on trades of at least $1,000, $5,000 or $25,000. The size is converted into the pair asset at launch, at the pair’s 30-minute average price.
- It counts per trade: splitting a trade into smaller ones avoids it. It charges large single trades; it does not cap anyone’s position.
- It is split like every other fee.
Underwater pot
Optional, set at launch and fixed. The creator can send a share of what the token’s vault receives to an Underwater pot, which pays the token’s buyers who are holding at a loss, in the pair asset. The launch form offers 5%, 10% or 25%, and holder dividends plus the Underwater share can’t pass 100% of what the vault receives.
- Who counts: wallets that bought from the token’s market (tokens received any other way carry no cost), still hold at least the creator’s minimum through a whole hour, and are controlled by a key (regular wallets, including EIP-7702 smart accounts). The token’s recipients, its vault owner and the wallet that sent the launch never count. The form offers minimums of 1,000, 10,000 or 100,000 tokens, default 10,000.
- How much: each hour, a wallet’s loss is what it paid for its tokens, after fees, minus their value at that hour’s average price, minus what the pot has already given it for that token. The pot is shared in proportion to those losses, and nobody gets more than their own loss: the most it pays is back to even. Whatever isn’t paid out stays in the pot.
- Timing: a buy counts from the next full hour, at the lowest balance the wallet held during it. Selling or sending tokens removes the same share of their cost.
- Paid hourly through a rewards distributor of its own (Morpho’s URD, a separate copy of the contract that pays UBI holders), claimable on the rewards page. Each hour’s payouts go live after a one-hour timelock.
- It survives a renounce. A renounce moves the creator’s part to holders; the Underwater share keeps running, because it is a promise to buyers.
Gold for UBI holders
The 13% of every v3 fee that goes to eligible UBI holders is set aside on chain on every trade, in the pair asset. From the Oct 18, 2026 round, the daily payout has a pot for each pair asset: the gold that has arrived is split over the same eligible holders, with the same weights as the USDC pot, and shows next to your USDC on the rewards page. Each round splits the gold that has reached the payout by its close, and anything still on its way, earlier gold included, carries into the next rounds.
Prefer USDC? Turn on Get XAUm rewards in USDC on the rewards page. Your gold is then sold for USDC in the same payout, at no worse than 1% under gold’s 30-minute average price, and the USDC is sent to you. If the price is further off, you get the gold instead. Turn it off any time.
Automatic harvests
ubi.fun’s harvester harvests every v3 token automatically, so holder dividends, creator earnings and the UBI holders’ gold keep moving without anyone pressing the button. Anyone can still harvest a token from its page.
What cannot happen
- No v3 token skips its vault. A v3 token can only trade while its creator NFT sits in its own vault.
- Settings don’t change. Fees, anti-snipe, the large-trade fee, buyback, holder share, the Underwater share and recipients are fixed at launch. The only changes ever possible are a renounce, which moves more to holders, and a community takeover, which changes who receives the creator’s future earnings and nothing else.
- Nobody can take the money. A vault pays only the token’s holders, its recipients and, if the creator set one, its Underwater pot. No owner function, ours included, moves funds out of a vault or a token’s dividends.
- Liquidity is locked. There is no function that lets anyone, the creator or us, withdraw it.
The v3 contracts are listed on Contracts and events, and what we operate for them is in Security model. Building on v3? The SDK (0.3.0 and later) covers it with createUbiV3: quotes, USDC trades through the pair, launches with every option above, dividends and vault harvests.
