The holder pool
How 24% of every fee becomes daily USDC income for holders, and why it can't be gamed.
The holder pool is the center of ubi.fun: 24% of every trading fee, from every coin, flows into one shared pool held as USDC in Morpho’s Universal Rewards Distributor. Once a day, the pool is divided among holders by a published, deterministic formula, and the result becomes claimable.
The daily cycle
- Epochs are UTC days. At 00 UTC each epoch closes and the day’s inflow is measured on-chain.
- The pool splits between coins by volume. Each coin’s slice is proportional to its share of the day’s traded volume. No volume means no slice. The pool rewards live economies.
- Each slice splits between the coin’s holders by balance. Balances are read at the epoch boundary. Hold 2% of the coin, get 2% of its slice.
- Entitlements are cumulative. Each day’s allocation adds to your lifetime total. The payout dataset is published, then its on-chain root activates after a one-day public review window. One claim collects everything you’re owed to date.
Designed to resist gaming
- Sybil-proof. Allocation is linear in holdings, splitting one wallet into a hundred changes nothing.
- Wash-trade-proof. The volume weighting makes each coin’s daily slice equal what its own trading contributed to the pool. Trading with yourself pays the full 1.25% fee to recover, at most, the 24% holder portion of your own fee, a guaranteed loss. Nobody can drain other coins’ contributions by inflating their own volume.
- Snapshot honesty. Balances are read at a predictable boundary; buying before midnight to inflate one day’s share costs round-trip fees against a single day’s slice, unprofitable in practice.
Eligibility
- Any wallet holding a ubi.fun coin at an epoch boundary is included.
- Protocol contracts, pools, and burn addresses are excluded. The pool pays people, not plumbing.
- At v1, smart-contract wallets (Safes, smart accounts) are not counted; use a regular wallet to earn. This is a disclosed limitation, not a policy, see Security model.
- Entitlements below $0.01 accumulate until they cross the floor. Nothing is forfeited.
Every step above is reproducible from public chain data. The exact procedure, with the formula, boundary definitions, and rounding rules, is in Verify any payout.
