How ubi.fun compares

The same trade on ubi.fun and on Argus, at the same cost to the trader, read from both sets of contracts.

Launchpad fees are easy to compare badly: a “3% tax” on one platform and a “3% fee” on another can cost traders different amounts. This page compares what actually happens to the money when a trader pays the same all-in cost on each platform, using values read from the contracts themselves. Every number links to its source, so you can check it.

The same 3% trade

Per $10M traded, with the trader paying 3% on every trade on both platforms:

The ubi.fun column includes the v2 fee split (from October 7, 2026) and a trade that names no referrer, which is how most trades arrive. A trade made in the ubi.fun app names the protocol as its referrer, which takes 5% of the fee first: then the platform keeps $43,500 (14.5%), UBI holders get $37,050 and the creator side $219,450.

On ubi.fun the creator side splits by the settings chosen at launch; at the defaults (a sixth to holders, a 10% buyback) that is $177,800 to the creator, $35,600 to the token’s holders and $17,700 to the buyback. On Argus the creator splits its 70% between creator income, holder dividends, buyback and burn, liquidity and a lock.

An Argus “3% tax” costs 4%

Every Portal 8 launch adds a fixed 1% base fee to the tax it charges, and Argus’s 30% applies to both. A launch set to a 3% tax therefore costs traders 4% per trade. Two real trades on one such launch: a buy paid 0.0396 of 0.99 USDC in fees, and the sell paid 0.038016 of 0.950399, both exactly 4.0%.

PositionManager: minProtocolAllocation() and MAX_PROTOCOL_ALLOCATION() both return 4105, so the protocol share is 41.05% of the fee after any referrer, and can be neither raised nor lowered.
PlatformFeeSplitter: TEAM_SHARE() returns 15 and TOTAL_SHARE() 39. Of the protocol share, 15 parts go to the protocol and 24 to the UBI holder pool. The contract has no owner.
HolderShareFeeCalculator: poolConfig(poolId) returns each v2 token’s fee, 1.5% to 5%.
The v2 fee split (77% creator side, 13% UBI holders, 10% protocol) is applied by the daily payout and published with every round: see the v2 fee split and Verify any payout.

Argus

Portal 8, the factory every new Argus launch goes through: launches(token) returns each launch’s hook and escrow.
A launch’s hook, for example this one: BASE_FEE_BPS() returns 100 (the 1% base fee), and buyTaxBps() / sellTaxBps() return the launch’s tax (300 / 300 here).
That launch’s escrow, here: treasuryBps() returns 3000 (30% to Argus) and treasury() the Argus treasury. All 41 Portal 8 launches we sampled, made between October 4 and 6, 2026, return 3000.
DefiLlama’s Argus methodology gives the same rates: 30% of every fee on Portal 8, and 10% on the older Portals 3 to 7.
Older Argus launches (Portals 3 to 7) charge a 1% pool fee plus the tax, and take 10% of both, per Argus’s own documentation. New launches no longer use them.
