Creator vaults and holder dividends

Tokens launched with a creator vault pay their own holders a share of every trading fee, in USDC.

Every token launched on ubi.fun since creator vaults went live, on October 4, 2026 at 16 UTC (Arc block 24,248,448), comes with a creator vault: a contract that receives the creator’s side of the token’s trading fees and splits it, at a share fixed at launch, between the creator and everyone holding the token. Holders earn USDC just by holding. No staking, no lockups, no sign-up.

Tokens launched before that moment, including UBI, are unchanged. A token’s page tells you which kind it is: tokens with a vault show a holder dividends panel.

What the creator chooses at launch

  • Trading fee: 1.5% to 5%. Paid on every swap of the token, default 1.5%. Whatever the fee, it splits the same way: 77% to the creator side, 13% to eligible UBI holders and 10% to the protocol (the v2 fee split). A higher fee pays everyone more, but makes each trade a little more expensive for traders.
  • Holder dividends: at least a sixth of the creator’s earnings, up to all of it. Default is a sixth (16.67%).
  • Auto buyback: 0% to 10% of the creator side, default 10%. To give holders more than that, raise the holder share instead, which pays them in USDC.
  • Optional recipients: up to 4 wallets or X handles that share what the creator keeps after holder dividends. See Splitting earnings.

All of these are permanent. The one change ever possible is the creator renouncing, which sends everything to holders (below).

Where the fee goes

On chain, a vault token’s fee splits like every other ubi.fun token’s: on a trade with no referrer, which is most of them, 58.95% goes to the creator stream, 25.26% to eligible UBI holders and 15.79% to the protocol (when an app names a referrer, it takes 5% first). From October 7, 2026, the daily payout evens this out so that every vault token’s fee ends up split 77% to the creator side, 13% to UBI holders and 10% to the protocol (the v2 fee split). The vault divides its part between the creator and the token’s holders. Per $10M traded, with no referrer:

Before vaults (1.25%) Vault default (1.5%, a sixth to holders) Example (5%, half to holders)
Creator $66,300 $88,900 $177,800
This token’s holders $0 $17,800 $177,800
Buyback and burn $7,400 $8,800 $29,500
Eligible UBI holders $31,600 $19,500 $65,000
Protocol $19,700 $15,000 $50,000

With a referrer (optional): it takes 5% of the fee and every row above is 5% smaller. At the vault default that is creator $84,400, holders $16,900, buyback $8,400, UBI holders $18,500, protocol $14,300 and referrer $7,500.

At the default settings the creator earns about a third more than creators earned before vaults, and the token’s holders go from nothing to a real share. UBI holders and the protocol take a smaller part of each vault token’s fee than of an older token’s, and earn more as creators choose higher fees. All columns assume the default 10% auto buyback; figures are rounded (the default holder share is 16.67%). To see these figures next to another launchpad at the same cost to traders, see How ubi.fun compares.

The v2 fee split

From October 7, 2026, every fee a vault token pays splits 77% to the creator side (the creator, the token’s holders and the buyback), 13% to eligible UBI holders and 10% to the protocol, at whatever fee the creator chose. A creator who raises the fee raises everyone’s earnings in the same proportion.

On chain, the fee still splits as above: the protocol’s standard 41.05% share is fixed in the contracts. The daily payout settles it to the split: 18.05% of each fee goes back to the token’s vault from the UBI holders’ share, with the daily payout round, as a leaf of its own in the same published dataset anyone can check (Verify any payout). It is always less than the UBI holders’ share of that same fee, so it never takes from other tokens’ fees. The UBI holders’ 13% includes a share the protocol settles from its own fees.

The vault treats the refund like any other fee: the next harvest splits it between the creator (and any recipients) and the token’s holders, at the shares fixed at launch. The buyback keeps its share of the creator stream. Tokens launched before v2 are not affected. A day whose refunds pass a review limit waits for a person to check it, with the money held in reserve.

How holders get paid

  1. Fees build up. Every trade’s fee accrues inside the protocol. A token’s fees move on in batches once they pass $1.

  2. Harvest. A harvest moves the waiting fees into the vault and splits them. Anyone can harvest from the token page, and our harvest bot does it automatically, usually within minutes once $1 is waiting (or $0.10 after six hours).

  3. 24-hour drip. The holders’ share is released gradually to everyone holding the token, by balance and time held. Each harvest adds its share to whatever is still dripping, and the combined amount is then released evenly over the next 24 hours, so with regular harvests dividends flow continuously and finish about a day after the last harvest. Buying just before a harvest and selling right after earns almost nothing.

  4. Withdraw. Your dividends show on the token page under Yours to withdraw. Withdraw whenever you like, in USDC. They never expire, and anyone can trigger a withdrawal on your behalf, which always pays you.

Every wallet holding the token earns, including smart-contract wallets. Pools, the protocol’s own contracts, the burn address and the token’s treasury do not.

Creator earnings

The creator’s revenue NFT goes into the vault at launch and stays there for good. The creator side of each harvest is credited to the recipients fixed at launch, and each recipient claims their USDC on the token page with Claim, whenever they like. X-handle recipients claim after verifying their handle.

Renounce

The vault owner can renounce on the token page. From then on, every creator fee goes to the token’s holders, forever. Earnings already credited stay claimable. Renouncing can’t be undone.

The fair launch slice

While an anti-sniper window is open, the auto buyback wall is closed. Buys that ask for an exact number of tokens then send their buyback slice to the token’s own treasury instead (buys through ubi.fun don’t). The vault owner can spend that treasury with buyBackAndBurn on the vault contract: it buys the token back and burns everything bought. It can only ever spend the token’s own treasury, never the vault’s or the holders’ money.

What cannot happen

  • No token skips the vault. Since creator vaults went live, a token launched without a vault cannot trade at all.
  • Settings don’t change. Fee, holder share, buyback and recipients are fixed at launch. Renouncing only ever moves more to holders.
  • Nobody can take the money. A vault pays only the token’s holders and the recipients fixed at launch. There is no owner function, ours included, that moves funds out of a vault or a token’s dividends.
